Preparing for NATO War: Putin wants all the Russians to "work as at the front" - isw

According to experts of the Institute of War Study, the Kremlin leader seeks to take his voters "experience of Soviet times". Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to prepare his country's population for a long war. He believes that all Russians should understand that they now live in a unique historical moment, so they must "work as if on the front" and "feel mobilized" to make the country reach their goals.

This is discussed in the new report of experts of the American Institute for War Study (ISW). Experts say that the Kremlin officials often mention the myths of the USSR about the Second World War, as they seek to achieve support and confidence in the military capacity of Russia. In particular, Putin chose similar memories of "Soviet sacrifice and full -scale social and economic mobilization.

" Recently, the ISW has suggested that Putin's decision to appoint Andrei Belousov Russia's Minister of Defense has become a significant step in trying to mobilize the Russian economy for a long war against Ukraine and, most likely, to start preparing for a future confrontation with NATO. "That is why Putin is likely to continue to carry out various information campaigns to prepare the Russians for unpopular further economic and social mobilization," the institute concluded.

We will remind, on May 29, in an interview with focus, one of the founders of the Deepstate project Roman Pogorely stated that the offensive of the Russian army in Kharkiv region was not over, because they did not apply all the forces that have accumulated on the border. In addition, in the Bloomberg comment, the adviser to the Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak suggested that the Russian Federation intends to force Ukrainian partners to agree to freeze combat.
