Motorcyclists training programs in military educational institutions of the Russian Federation are being developed, large parties of motorcycles are purchased in China, and landfills are processed under motorcycle routes, according to the Institute of War Study (ISW).
A few days ago, analysts noted in the Russian Ministry of Defense published videos that recorded visiting by Russian officials of the Novosibirsk Higher Military Team School and a new military training ground in the Krasnodar region. The "defense" department of the Russian Federation noted that the aggressor state now creates programs for the preparation of motorcyclists at these objects.
Russian Defense Minister Andriy Belousov and Commander of the Land Forces of Russia, Colonel-General Andriy Modvichev discussed the improvement of Russia's capabilities to study troops and the release tactics. Meanwhile, Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Beck Yevkurov stated that the Krasnodar Territory Polygon has a modern gym for motorcycles, ATVs and ATVs, and noted that Russia has modernized more than 200 training centers, taking into account the new tactics used by Russian troops in Ukraine.
Analysts added that the Russian military command has been working on the formalization of tactics and training of motorcyclists in the entire Russian army in recent months. And on June 13, the propaganda Telegram channels wrote that Mordvichev was the first to use motorcycles and quad bikes at the end of 2024 to "facilitate the further promotion of Russia to Pokrovsk.
" Earlier, the Russian military bought motorcycles themselves, or received them from volunteers, but now Mrugvichev wants the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to provide troops with motorcycles centrally and created a stock. Russia has already purchased more than 40,000 chinese motorcycles in 2024 and that Russian troops received 20,000 such motorcycles.
One Russian military source reports that the Russian Defense Ministry intends to buy 120,000 motorcycles, 30,000 ATVs and 12,000 buggy by the end of 2025. Another source in the Ministry of Defense of Russia has stated that the Defense Ministry intends to buy up to 200,000 motorcycles in 2025. And for training they will hire a group of instructors from Wagner PEC.
At the same time, Russian bloggers complained that Russian motorcycles and ATVs are vulnerable to Ukrainian drones with a first person (FPV) and that such attacks are usually suicide. But they can be more successful if Russian troops use motorcycles in tandem with significant air support and drones.
