"Second in force after Ukraine": Poland can come into war against Russia - expert

According to military analyst Hans Petter Midtun, Eastern Europe understands Russia better. So Poland increases the reserves of its weapons, as well as the number of armed forces. Poland can become a vanguard of NATO in Eastern Europe if the Russian Federation takes its aggression against Ukraine to a new level. This was stated by military analyst Hans Petter Midtun at Kyiv Post. In his view, there are great differences in NATO now, but Poland increases the reserves of its weapons.

In addition, Warsaw understands what is happening in Eastern Europe against the background of war in Ukraine. "The point is that Poland thinks, plans and operates in accordance with the last strategic concept of NATO. It is increasing military power to do - if necessary - what the US and NATO will not do: that is, to start fighting with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, so that stop a war that threatens European security and stability, "Midtun said.

In his opinion, Eastern Europe understands Russia better. Recall that Poland intends to place Himars starting installations near the border with the Kaliningrad region of Russia. This step can be a deterrent to the Russian Federation if it decides to attack Poland because of its active assistance to Ukraine. "Eastern European countries support Ukraine's struggle for their right to exist - their sovereignty and independence - not only from kindness, but above all to protect itself," Midtun wrote.

The expert said that there are now 170,000 soldiers in the Polish army. Along with today's Germany, it plans to create the "largest land army in Europe" with 300,000 men and women, including 250,000 professional soldiers and 50,000 territorial defense employees. It was also reported that Poland, along with NATO allies, will conduct Zalew-2023 training on the border with Russia.
