The fleet was supplemented by the submarines

Part of the nuclear triad: The Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation included two atomic underwater cruisers

The fleet was supplemented by the submarines "Imperiator Alexander III" and "Krasnoyarsk", which before that made the transition under the ice of the Arctic, with a length of 4,000 nautical miles. The Pacific Fleet of Russia was supplemented by two latest atomic submarines of the fourth generation - "Imperiator Alexander III" and "Krasnoyarsk", the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said.

The solemn ceremony of the crew of underwater cruisers took place in Vilyuchinsk after a successful Arctic transition from the North to the Pacific Fleet. The submarines passed the Six Arctic Seas, and the total length of the transition was 4,000 nautical miles. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Defense Pavel Fradkov and Commander -in -Chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Alexander Moiseev.

"The new atomic underwater cruisers, which significantly increased the combat potential of their compounds of the Pacific Fleet, were in the planned terms in the ammunition and prepared to solve all the tasks for its intended purpose, in particular in the difficult conditions of the Arctic," - said Admiral. K-554 "Imperator Alexander III" is a nuclear submarine of the strategic purpose of the project 955 "Borei".

This is the seventh ship of this project and the fourth, built on the modernized project "Bore-A". The underwater cruiser was laid in 2015 and equipped with 16 ballistic missiles P-30 "Mace", which are capable of carrying the shared combat blocks. Also on board are nasal torpedo devices designed for ammunition up to 40 torpedoes. According to Russian sources, a mace rocket test allegedly confirmed its high efficiency, so it gradually replaces the obsolete missiles of "blue" third generation.

Thus, "Emperor Alexander III" is an important part of the Russian strategic nuclear triad intended to curb potential threats. K-571 "Krasnoyarsk" is a multi-purpose atomic submarine of the 885m "Yasen-M". The submarine was laid in July 2014, it is a modernized version of the project 885 "Yasen". It is equipped with both torpedo devices and vertical starting installations that can use various winged missiles, including Onyx, Zircon and Caliber.
