The DPRK increases the production of shells for Russia, building underground work lines - the media

According to analysts, the process of supplying ammunition to the Russian Federation was intensified after the visit of the North Korean leader Kim Jong -in to Russia in September 2023. Despite a number of DPRK problems, it increases the production of 152 mm shells for the Russian Federation, creating new lines underground. About it writes Defense Express.

The material states that the Radio Free Asia Korean has become aware of interesting details of this process, covering the terms, volumes, places and supply of raw materials for the production of shells. It is reported that the process of supplying ammunition to the Russian Federation was intensified after the visit of the North Korean leader Kim Jong -in to Russia in September 2023. And such cooperation allowed North Korea to get additional resources for its nuclear and missile programs.

In addition, as experts stated, a line of production was created or redefined to meet the needs of the Russian Federation in the DPRK. Thus, at the 915th Forestry Plant Plant, located near the city of Hesan on the border with China, is a line that previously produced mortar mines. Now it is focused on the issue of 152 mm shells. The publication writes that the plan for the extract of one of this line is 6000 shells per month. It is 72 thousand shells per year.

According to analysts, it is about the cabinet buildings, without explosive, not ammunition in assembly. This indicator has not yet been reached, although the reconciliation of the line began immediately after Kim Jong -in from Russia returned. It lasted less than two months, and at the end of December the first test party was already released. The plant has a priority in electricity supply and, despite the shutdown of neighboring cities, receives it without interruption.

The material says that the raw material comes from China. These are special alloys. However, deliveries do not differ in constancy. This is one of the reasons for failure to comply with the plan. The projectile buildings that are manufactured at this plant are then sent to another enterprise. It is a "Agricultural Plant". It is reported that this enterprise is located in the Kilaj district. There they are filled with explosives and turned into a finished ammunition.

The publication writes that at another "plant # 95", located near the city of Samjion, also went to the issue of 152 mm ammunition, although earlier he produced ammunition to small arms and mortar mines. However, according to analysts, 82-mm mines were moved from the basement to the surface, and its place in the protected space was occupied by a 152 mm production line. This process allegedly took two months and production began at the end of 2023.

It is noted that the main enterprise of the DPRK, which is engaged in the production of artillery ammunition, is a "tractor plant" in Kangge. Earlier it was reported that the Armed Forces destroyed another gun of the 1950s, from which the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were fired by the DPRK shells. According to journalists, the M-46 gun shoots 130 mm shells that have long been manufactured in Russia.
