Serviceman, war veteran and UBS: what privileges are provided for each of the statuses

To spread: There are several official statuses in Ukraine that determine the legal protection of persons related to military service. It is a "serviceman", "participant of hostilities" (UBD) and "Veteran of War". Each of them has its own peculiarities, grounds for obtaining and a set of benefits guaranteed by law. The military receive salaries, uniforms, food, use health care, are entitled to insurance, vacations, bonuses, combat allowances and compensation for housing. This status can be obtained not only by the military but also by volunteers, terroborons, rescuers, police officers and doctors who operated in the war zone. It is assigned by a separate order after checking all documents.

Benefits include free travel (except air), up to 75% of utilities, priority with housing and health care, preferential training for themselves and children, land right and tax discounts. Benefits depend on a specific subcategory. Persons with disabilities due to war have advanced social guarantees: additional payments, medical programs and rehabilitation. War participants receive, for example, a 25% discount on utilities.
