The First Lady of Ukraine presented in Norway the initiatives of the Olena Zelenska Foundation aimed at supporting access to education in wartime

The First Lady of Ukraine, together with the team of the Olena Zelenska Foundation, presented the Foundation's activities in Norway for the first time in order to start working with Norwegian businesses on joint humanitarian and educational initiatives. The panel discussion in Oslo brought together representatives of Norway's leading companies and business associations.

The main focus is on the access of Ukrainian children to education, which is one of the key issues in the work of the Foundation. The Elena Zelenska Foundation restores and equips shelters in schools and kindergartens. This allows children to learn offline in a safer environment, even with the constant threat of Russian attacks. 30 shelters have already been set up in schools and kindergartens in seven regions of Ukraine. More than 13,000 children use them every day.

"At a time when children are forced to study to the sound of sirens, education has become part of our resilience - something that helps us feel connected, supported, normal life. That is why my Foundation team and I work to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn in a safe space - at school, kindergarten or hospital. Because by preserving education, we preserve childhood and the future," said Olena Zelenska.

The Foundation also provides students and teachers with gadgets for educational purposes and equips the School of Superheroes cells in children's hospitals. "We at the Foundation do not yet have joint projects with Norwegian partners, but we see great potential in this. We are united by a common understanding: supporting children and education is about what shapes the future.
