Zaporizhzhia NPP on the verge of catastrophe: the station works on emergency generators through the actions of the occupiers

To spread: the administration of the occupied Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant is forced to use emergency diesel generators. The station has lost its external power supply after damage to the transmission line, which poses a threat to security. According to PJSC NAEK "Energoatom", the situation at the station temporarily occupied by Russian troops in the city of Energodar remains critical. The second day in a row is operating in emergency mode.

Stable power supply required for the safe operation of the atomic object is absent. Diesel generators are intended only for temporary emergency power supply of the most important security systems, "-said the company. Damage to the last active power transmission line, which nourished the station from the Ukrainian power system, occurred on September 23. Ukrenergo has confirmed the absence of technical obstacles for its use. The transmission line is ready for voltage, "the operator says.

" Energoatom "accuses the occupation administration of conscious refusal to connect the station to the Ukrainian power system. The company characterizes the actions of the Russian side as intentional and part of a misinformation campaign. " The occupants continue to manipulate. They are consciously at danger of the security of the station, creating a threat to millions of people in Ukraine and the entire European continent, "-said in a statement.

Prolonged work on diesel generators is not safe for the atomic object. These installations are not designed for long-term. lead to complete loss of power. This is a direct threat to nuclear and radiation safety, "experts say. In this regard, Energoatom calls for international partners to increase pressure on the aggressor country. The company insists on immediate denacification and demilitarization of the station.
