According to the Federal Customs Service (FMS), approximately 1 million tons of different goods were imported into Russia for $ 6 billion within parallel imports, that is, by the Menivtsi without the permission of the right holders who banned sales in the aggressor country. According to FMS chairman Vladimir Ivin, fake devices, toys, clothing, shoes, etc. are most often sold in markets and in small shops.
Customs officers can not distinguish counterfeit products from the original, so if the documents are decorated correctly, it falls on the counters. According to Maxim Danilov, the head of the National Shoe Union, foreign companies are still working in Russia. But if earlier the official representative and distributor could sell products of a particular brand on an exclusive contract, now they can be imported. Customs has no right to stop products if allowed within the parallel import.
Earlier, they wrote that parallel imports did not help Russia solve problems with the purchase of IT equipment. Russian companies are undergoing a large shortage of servers, whose supply has declined four times compared to the performance before the start of a full -scale war in Ukraine. It was also written that the impoverished Russians began to buy smartphones of unknown brands instead of iPhone and Samsung.
