European politicians refused to select the money from the Russians, saying it was a "map" for future negotiations. Deutsche Welle was told about the details of the solution. The publication reported that from an unpaid source received a document with the results of a 20 European summit. The project says that Russian assets will not confiscate. The vote took place and the document was adopted unchanged, journalists wrote.
The text states that the EU is ready to thaw the funds, but in order to give them to the Russian Federation, not to Ukraine. Two conditions must be fulfilled for this: the war is completed and that the Russians may compensate for all the losses of Ukrainians in the DW article. "Russian assets must remain immobilized until Russia ceases its aggressive war against Ukraine and compensates for the losses caused by this war," the journalists made a fragment of the 20 summit.
Deutsche Welle also noted that several EU countries have opposed the confiscation: what countries are referring to. To substantiate their position, they made a number of arguments: journalists also reminded the debate in the European Parliament on frozen Russian assets. The debate took place during March 12 meeting. Some of the attendees said it would be fair to give the Ukrainians 200 billion euros. Others objected and resent that they would soon take money simply for being Russian.
It should be noted that in March 2024, the Minister of Community and Infrastructure Development Alexander Kubrakov interviewed the media and commented on the possibility of confiscation of Russian assets. The Ukrainian official assured that this would probably happen in 2025. Meanwhile, in February 2025, French President Emmanuel Macron spoke about this issue.
