Bypassing sanctions: Russia purchases western parts for the production of Su-57 fighter (photo)

Military production in the Russian Federation in 2023-2024 is increasing, so it is obvious that there are methods of smuggling of the necessary components. It is also noted that smuggling is not limited to electronics on Su-57. Russia uses Western electronics and production equipment to produce SU-57 fighters. About it reports the project Fronetelligence Insight with reference to the correspondence of the Russian company "Micro -Curr".

In August 2022, companies transferred the necessary equipment, which is included in the automated workplaces of the IPPU-50 product and calibration of the IPPU-50 list includes a fixed WA36, EA-PPS 3150 and PLR7 60-12 power supply. All these components are made abroad and are supplied with three different companies. The Micro-Certificate worked on at least three automated test stations and MPPU-50 calibration.

IPPU-50 is an element of a radio reception that operates in L- and X-range of frequencies. They are used for satellite communication and radar. These elements are important for the production of the aircraft, and their absence can be a prerequisite for disrupting the production of new Su-57 fighters.

"Although it is difficult to determine whether these components come from existing Russian reserves, whether they were deliberately sold through third countries, it is obvious that the Russian military industry is highly dependent on the Western components, especially in electronics," the project said. It is noted that military production continued to increase in 2023 and 2024. Obviously, there are methods of smuggling of key components or replaced by Chinese counterparts.

In addition, it is not limited to electronics for Russian aircraft. In particular, after a full -scale invasion and imposition of international sanctions "Micro -Curtain" concluded an agreement with the Russian company "KMT", which pledged to put the German lathe Siemens Kle 360 in July 2022. Recall that not so long ago Russia has lost two Su-57 fighters.
