Russia has finally "invented" chips that were in the USA another 20 years ago: what is known

In 2030, processors will be produced in the Russian Federation based on "sovereign" chip -level software for iPhone 5s. The aggressor country plans to develop and implement automated chip design systems (CAD). They have to work in 6 years, writes Kommersant. The media reports that some of these special programs will require production capacities that are not present in the Russian Federation at least today.

In addition, CAD will receive the functions of artificial intelligence (AI), but not immediately. The material also states that the software will make it possible to create chips for a 28-nanometer process. It is worth noting that 28 nm processes in the United States and around the world were implemented in 2010. Then the Taiwanese enterprise FAB 12 (owned by TSMC, - ed. ) Established mass production of such processors for leading firms.

In particular, 28-nanometer were Intel Sandy Bridge, Intel Saltwell, AMD Bulldozer, AMD PILEDRIVER, AMD Steamrollr, Snapdragon from Qualcomm, Apple A7 for iPhone 5s. Currently, Synopsys and Cadence are used in the Russian Federation for semiconductors development. However, the developers of this software no longer send the necessary updates because Russia is fighting against Ukraine.

In order to keep electronics to float, Russian officials propose to introduce from the beginning of the software, which would support the available technical processes, for example, a 90-nanometer used at the Micron factory, as well as 250- and 180-nanometer. Earlier, we wrote that the Russian Federation is buying American chips needed to guide rockets.
