Russian troops threw a rare BTR-90 "Rostock" (video) to assault Avdiivka

Rostock BTR is the first Russian development of an armored personnel carrier since the collapse of the USSR. The machine was stored in the museum on the cubes and exists in single copies. During defense, the Ukrainian military defeated a Russian column of equipment under Avdiivka. Among the losses of machines a rare BTR-90 "Rostock" was observed. It became known from the video of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the name of the General Hurunji Mark Bezruchka.

The Armed Forces fighters broke the invaders during the assault actions in the Krasnogorivka area. Among the armored vehicles, the observers identified the BTR-90 "Rostock", which was abandoned. Also near the armored personnel carrier stands a badly damaged armor AMN-590951. The video was recorded in the temporarily occupied territory. Therefore, the Russians have the opportunity to evacuate the BTR-90 "Rostock" if it is not affected by a drone.

The first appearance of Rostok on the front was recorded in October 2023. For Russia, the BTR-90 is the first development after the collapse of the USSR. It was created by the Gorky Automobile Plant in 1994. Rostock was adopted in the Russian Federation in 2008, and production was planned to start in 2011. The mass production did not begin due to the change in the concept of arms of the Land Forces. In addition, work on another APC, which is now known as the BTR-82A, began.

The car was cheaper and more efficient than Rostock. It is known that several BTR-90 samples were made. They were stored in a museum in Cubinka, probably from there they removed cars for fighting. The peculiarity of the BTR-90 is the ability to turn on the spot, because the wheels can return in different directions. Suspension 8 wheels is independent and the gearbox is hydromechanical.
