Ukraine will still have to significantly strengthen its own defense for airfields for airfields so that the fighters are protected from attacks by Russians. The occupiers themselves will also be charged to the front line, says Alexander Matvienko. Although the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is actively preparing infrastructure together with Western partners for the first batch of fighter fighters F-16 are still unknown. There is information about the delay in Kiev's first party from Denmark.

The journalist of the military department of focus Alexander Matvienko told this in an interview with focus. According to him, the Russians have time to saturate the front line systems in order for the F-16 to be in the area of ​​lesions of such systems. How much it will be the occupiers and how effective the fighters will be on the battlefield will only take time.

In general, according to the journalist, the F-16 is useful for knocking down enemy aircraft of Russians, who are going to dump managed airbags or apply other types of strokes on the defense of the Armed Forces. But such fighters cannot handle ballistic missiles. "It is still unknown what the first batch of fighters will be and what weapons they will receive," emphasizes Alexander Matvienko.

"It is also important that Ukraine has managed to get additional air defense systems for covering airfields from F-16. " Earlier, Focus reported that the transfer of the first six F-16 fighter jets by the Kingdom of Denmark is expected only in the second quarter of 2024, notes the newspaper with reference to the country's Defense Ministry. The Danish Ministry of Defense has confirmed this information, noting that six aircraft that were expected to be delivered by the new year would be detained.

According to them, Ukraine has not yet fulfilled several conditions necessary for the use of fighters, including pilots training. The Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom also reports that the first six Ukrainian pilots can be ready for combat flights at the F-16 by spring. Back in August 2023, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the transfer of 42 American F-16 fighters from the Netherlands and Denmark.
