"The special services of Russia beat themselves." Why Kazakhstan will not sell Russia weapons and what is the real support of Ukraine - interviewing HB

Arman Shuraev, an opposition -minded Kazakh businessman, about the reaction of his fellow citizens on the Great War in Ukraine, attempts to reduce the influence of Russia on the Kazakhstan economy and the essence of authoritarian regime in his country. In the past, the famous Kazakh mediaman, and today the businessman, the leader of thought and opposition activist Arman Shuraev is the most common guest in Ukraine.

And from the first days of the large -scale February invasion of the Russian army, a loud and influential voice of support for Ukrainians in Kazakhstan. The video of the day was one of the first Shuraev to announce the collection of humanitarian aid for Ukraine in his country, and in September he came to support Ukrainians in Kiev. How Kazakhstan changes and the moods of Kazakh society against the backdrop of the Russian war in Ukraine, he tells HB.

- We see the signs that Kazakhstan begins to be removed from his ally on the City Highness [Organization of the Collective Security Treaty, which includes Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan] of the Russian Federation. This is evident from recent statements by President Tokayev - refusal to supply to the Russian Federation of military goods, restriction of the presidential power, early elections of the President and amnesty to January protests.

Is this evidence of a similar tendency? - President Tokayev's statements, as for me, - a direct consequence of our January events, when blood was spilled in Kazakhstan. Today, it is clear that Russian special services, headed by their president, have to do with this blood. It became clear when 74 Russian boards with Russian servicemen flew to us during the day. Even Americans with their most serious logistics opportunities for such surgery would be prepared for at least two weeks.

We started all the events on January 2, and on January 5–6, all these Russian troops were already on the territory of Kazakhstan. That is, it is clear that this old elite in conspiracy with the leadership of Russia tried to remove Tokayev from power.

According to the plan, the elections in our country were to take place in 2023-2024, but it is clear that in the country, in the political class, there are still many revenge, many clans that have financial and material resources in order to use a factor of destabilization by taking advantage of the presidential election. I am not a fan of the current President of Kazakhstan, but I would not like the elite who has been deribaning and robbing our country for 30 years.

- For a long time Tokaev looked like a direct successor and follower of Nazarbayev, today we see that the President of Kazakhstan has some other subjectivity. How would you describe it? -Theyev is difficult to call the opponent of Nazarbayev, he is a successor, whom Nazarbayev himself chose, but at some point it turned out that Tokaev has his vision of how to manage a country where there is no place neither Nazarbayev nor the old elite.

Gradually, this conflict came to the surface, and for some time we lived in such a period of dual power. Although Nazarbayev left the post of president, he did not lose his influence, he was the chairman of the Rada, managed the power block, this block was not controlled by Tokaev and could make a coup, which would not require much effort.

- Is it possible to consider those decisions that are already made by Tokaev, in particular the restriction of the presidential term, such a statement "away from Moscow"? - I think so. Especially since the whole world has witnessed the Tokaev expressed at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, it is very unpleasant about "l/DNR", and that Kazakhstan would not help Russia to circumvent sanctions, it became clear that Putin is viewing Tokaev not as an ally, but as an ally, but as opponent.

- How much war in Ukraine and then the statements of the deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev that Kazakhstan and Georgia - the following after Ukraine, seriously perceive the ruling elites of Kazakhstan, the people of Kazakhstan? - The ruling top of Russia with these ill -advised statements is increasingly removing not only the political elite, but also the common people of Kazakhstan from Russia.

There were many people who sympathized with the Russian Federation among the Kazakhstan. After absolutely hostile statements are broadcast by all, from Medvedev and ending with all sorts of deputies of their parliament, and Putin himself said several times that the Kazakhs had never had statehood that Kazakhstan allegedly purchased only thanks to Nazarbayev, the number of friends and benevoirs Inside Kazakhstan fell sharply.
