No more purchases: Russians' smartphones deprive of an important function

Russian Mir cards will no longer be available for use through an application in the Russian Federation. Many residents of Russia will no longer be able to use the MIR PAY digital payment service, as the appropriate app was removed from the Google Play store. Details transmit a 4pda portal. The 4pda media wrote that the Mir Pay app was removed from the Google Play store. Previously, the Russians used this program to pay for goods and services through a NFC module.

Electronic cards were compatible with Terminals with Mir Map Support. They could also be paid in some online stores that support the appropriate option. The publication believes that Mir Pay has been signed by the national payment card system, because, in addition to MIR PAY, Google applications did not appear in the Google Application Store as SBEY and Catch! The media reports its readers that they can download the "Mir" app on the Rustore and App Gallery sites at the 4pda Media Forum.

Samsung has also reported on its Russian site that Samsung Pay will also stop supporting Russian Mir Cards since April 3, 2024. The Payment System of the Aggressor Country will no longer be supported by Samsung smartphones. The company reported that it would not be possible to connect the Mir card to Samsung Pay. It is not now impossible to add new "Mir Cards" from banking applications.
