However, the publication states that despite all attempts, the EU faces big problems.

After 30 years of decline, manufacturers are still faced with narrow places of the resource supply chain. The Nammo NaMMMO Executive Director of Nammo, Morten Brandzag said there was no industry capacity. "I think we don't have to say it is impossible, but now I can't understand how (it)," Brandzag said. The European Union undertook to transfer 1 million ammunition to Ukraine when brutal battles for Bakhmut. By mid -2035, the EU will raise $ 532 million to increase production.

They should be higher this year, even if Ukraine is not able to implement. RheinMetall assumes that it will be able to produce 600,000 artillery shells annually by the end of 2024 compared to 450 thousand in 2023. Norwegian Nammo also received $ 1 billion orders, compared to 300,000, which were usually signed.

Despite the high likelihood of failing, European officials are still trying to find other ways to collect a million rounds. Before that, the EU plans to transfer not only 155-mm shells, but others, including Soviet calibers.
