Russia is preparing provocation for Ukrainian special forces in Sudan - GUR

According to Ukrainian intelligence, it became known that Russian special services fabricated fake images for misinformation campaign about the illegal circulation of weapons in Belarus, because in Sudan because of religious Muslim holidays they could not do so. Russian propaganda prepares a provocative misinformation campaign to accuse Ukrainian special forces of using foreign weapons during their participation in the fighting in Sudan.

On April 17, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports in the official telegram-channel. Ukrainian intelligence became known that this hybrid information campaign is planned to involve a number of foreign media, including Libyan, where they provide for fake photos of allegedly trophy weapons of American descent, which was "captured" by Ukrainian fighters.

In fact, it is known that this weapon at one time on the battlefield in Ukraine was shaped by the Wagner PEC. Thus, according to GUR, the Russians seek to blame the Allies and the Ukrainian army of uncontrolled weapons, as well as discredit the power of Ukraine and the Armed Forces command, which, they say, send elite special military units to other countries, including Africa, while When the war continues in the territory of Ukraine.

Ukrainian special services emphasize that the Ukrainian military is absolutely not relevant to the illegal circulation of weapons in any region. It should be reminded that in the fall of 2023, Ukrainian special forces, at the invitation of the legitimate power circles of Sudan, participated in operations against the Wagner PEC and their local associates from the forces of rapid response, which were staged in the country by a coup.
