Recruited for war in Ukraine: Cuba exposed a Russian network of trafficking in human beings

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country claims that all attempts to recruit Cubans were terminated, and criminal cases were initiated against the organizers of the scheme. The Cuba found a Russian organization that was engaged in illegal activities. The criminals traded people who were then used as mercenaries to participate in the war with Ukraine on the side of the Russian Federation. This was reported in the Foreign Ministry of Cuba on September 4.

Representatives of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that they are actively working on the termination of the activity of a network of trafficking in human beings, which has its roots in Russia.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs has discovered and works on the neutralization and liquidation of a network of trafficking in human beings from Russia to include Cuban citizens living there, and even some living in Cuba, in military forces involved in military operations in Ukraine ", - the statement of the Cuban Foreign Policy.

They also assured that they took all necessary measures to neutralize such attempts and that criminal proceedings were already initiated against persons involved in this illegal activity. "Cuba enemies spread distorted information, the purpose of which is to tune the image of the country and to present it as an accomplice to these actions, which we decisively reject," the Foreign Ministry said. They noted that the Cuba did not participate in the war in Ukraine.
