For some displaced persons want to keep payments until the end of the war: details

According to a representative of the Human Rights Committee Maxim Tkachenko, people should not depend on the changes taken by the government. In Ukraine, People's Deputies work a bill aimed at ensuring guaranteed compensation for housing before the end of martial law to all internally displaced persons (IDPs). This was stated by a member of the Committee on Human Rights Maxim Tkachenko.

He explained that according to the government's decision, since February 1, 2024, the number of internally displaced persons who will receive compensation for accommodation is almost reduced. That is, these people will deprive state payments. "Many people in the government do not understand that this payment is compensation for housing for people. But before we take away this money, we, that is, the state, had to provide all these people with housing. People are impossible for people, "he said.

He said that at the parliamentary control level, the issue of changing the government resolution is being resolved to leave cash payments for displaced persons. "The authorities solve this issue, that is, people do not need to worry," Tkachenko said. Tkachenko explained that the bill that the deputies work on guarantees all displaced persons to pay for the compensation of housing until the end of martial law, "so that people are not victims of changes that the government is accepting.

" It should be noted that the amount of monthly state aid for accommodation is 3 thousand hryvnias to citizens with disabilities and children and 2 thousand hryvnias for all other internally displaced persons. Since the full -scale war in Ukraine began, five million internally displaced persons have received financial assistance. As of December 2023, as the Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovich said, almost 2. 5 million people pay money.

The state controls financial assistance through verification that all IDPs should take place since 2014. "We cannot go to the same scenario right now. We need to understand the purpose of providing payments/benefits and immediately determine their term. Now IDPs can only receive payments for six months with the possibility of continued for six more, provided they are unsatisfactory," Oksana Zholnovich said .

According to her, thanks to help, a person should be easier to reintegrate in the new region or in a new place of residence. But this process cannot last endlessly. The person has half a year to get a job. "Further, a person can receive benefits, if necessary in a certain category (disability, poverty, etc. ). But without tying to IDPs. The Ministry of Reintegration is developing a law to limit IDP status to five years," she explained.
