All known chemical weapons reserves in the world are destroyed - OPHZ

The United States of America, the latter, officially known state-owner, completed the destruction of their declared inventories of chemical weapons. However, the Armed Forces state that the Russian Federation continues to use poisons on the battlefield. The prohibition of chemical weapons (OPSHZ) confirmed that the latest chemical weapons from the reserves declared by all states of the Convention on Chemical Weapons (CCD) were checked and destroyed. This was reported on the organization's website.

The last chemical ammunition with the United States of America, chemical weapons, was irreversibly liquidated on July 7 at the experimental plant for the destruction of Blue Grass poisonous substances in Kentucky. "I congratulate all States Parties, and in this case the United States of America, with this great achievement of the international community. Termination weapons, " - said the CEO of OPCHZ Fernando Arias. This information was also confirmed by US President Joe Biden.

"Today, I proudly report that the United States has safely destroyed the last ammunition from this stock that another step brings us closer to the world free from horrific chemical weapons," the US leader said in the White House website. The Convention on the ban on chemical weapons came into force in 1997. Its participants have undertaken not to produce, not use such weapons and destroy all its stocks. There are now more than 190 countries participants in the Convention.

To date, OPHZ has checked and destroyed 72 304. 34 metric tons of chemical weapons reserves stated by countries around the world. Despite the fact that the Russian Federation is also a member country, from the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, dozens of cases of use of prohibited weapons have been recorded in Ukraine. The day before it became known that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation actively use chemical weapons against the Ukrainian military in the Bakhmut direction.
