On the site of the former Zara stores and other Inditex brands, stores called Maag and Dub have opened.
Earlier, similar steps were made by the Japanese Fast Retailing Holding, the owner of the UNIQLO brand, submitting ten applications for trademark registration, including GU logo, fasht retailing Co. and Uniqlo, as well as the Russian version of the name - "Yunyklo". The holding already owns 27 brands related to UNIQLO, two with GU and three - with Fast Retailing.
A similar strategy for restoring the presence in the Russian market was previously used by Makita specializing in the production of power tools. It gradually increases the volume of importation of products, planning to return part of the assortment by the autumn, which disappeared from the shops after reducing deliveries in February 2022. Recall that in 2022 the Spanish Holding Inditex decided to leave its business in Russia through the sale of the company to the Livan Entrepreneur.
New stores did not plan to present all brand collections. At the same time, the opening of four brands that were previously part of the Inditex Group together with Zara. The Russian office continued its work, but already under the leadership of the Lebanese owner. The plans also renamed the popular Zara to Z, and Bershka - to BR to maintain customer recognition after the original stores from the Russian market.
