Arrival of nuclear weapons of the Russian Federation to Belarus: Putin and Lukashenko contradict each other - analysts

In the monitoring group, Belaruski Gayun believes that Alexander Lukashenko probably does not have complete information about the placement of nuclear weapons in Belarus. There is currently no confirmation because the Russian Federation has transferred part of its tactical nuclear weapons (DAOO) to the territory of the Republic of Belarus. This was reported by the Belaruski Gayun Monitoring Group on June 16.

The source mentions that during a speech at the PMF forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared the arrival of the first nuclear charges to Belarus. However, analysts do not see facts that would confirm this information. The authors of the publication also noted that in recent months Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko have voiced a number of theses that contradict each other. Thus, on March 25, Putin stated that the Russian Federation would expel the Drazh to Belarus until July 1, 2023.

Later, on June 9, he said that the placement of nuclear weapons in Belarus would begin after July 7-8. At the same time, Lukashenko argued on May 25 that moving to his country had already begun. According to analysts, such contradictions indicate that Lukashenko does not have all the information about the placement of tags in Belarus and does not control this process.

The monitoring group also believes that Putin and Lukashenko can campaign for misinformation to create political pressure on the eve of NATO summit. We will remind that on May 25 in Minsk a meeting of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergiy Shoig and the Belarusian head of the defense department Viktor Khrenin, during which a document on the placement on the territory of Belarus of non -patient nuclear weapons was signed.
