One of the objects that destroyed the Russians during the invasion is the National Literary and Memorial Museum of Grigory Skovoroda in Kharkiv region. To restore it, it is necessary to raise UAH 112 million, the Ministry of Culture press service reports. The Ministry presented the project to preserve the Ukrainian culture aimed at attracting charitable funds to restore cultural heritage monuments in Ukraine.

On May 7, the museum was destroyed as a result of a purposeful and sight of rocket attack. On that day, the Russian projectile flew under the roof of the building - a fire broke out, and the fire covered the whole room. One employee was injured.

The exposition of the museum stored publications of Skovoroda's works, literature about it, books of ancient, medieval and modern philosophers and poets, ethnographic subjects, paintings and graphic works. The exposition also had some personal belongings of the philosopher. The adjacent ancient park is also of historical importance, the planning of which has not changed since the time of Skovoroda.

Prior to the start of the shelling, a well, the place of the first burial of the philosopher, his grave, a monument, an orderly sculptural "Philosophical Alley". The most valuable exhibits of the collections were rescued, they were moved in advance to a safe place. The destruction of the museum caused mass indignation on social networks. The Ukrainians called on to exclude Russia from UNESCO, the UN organization, which takes care of cultural heritage.

“I have no doubt that the Russians were beaten specifically through the Skovoroda Museum. He once said, "Do not brother with those who hide evil. " This is probably a conscious ideological action. They called the Frying Pan almost the first Russian philosopher. It is practically conscious of what Putin is fighting against - Ukrainian identity, ”said Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko.
