Alexander Kovalenko in an interview with Channel 24 told about the peculiarities of these missiles. According to Kovalenko, the official characteristics of Iranian and North Korean weapons are often exaggerated. In this regard, the transfer of ballistic missiles from the mentioned countries to the Russian Federation is primarily a threat to the border and frontier regions of Ukraine.
Kovalenko noted that the media has repeatedly reported that Iran is preparing to transfer the Russian Federation to ballistic missiles. Similar reports appeared in 2022, but such missiles have not yet been seen in service with Russian invaders. According to the expert, Tehran has two types of missiles-Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar. The analyst emphasized that if the Fateh-110 is a classic ballistic missile, then Zolfaghar is different.
"Its difference is not only in the range of flight, but also that it has the combat part from the accelerating bloc, and there is no such technology in ballistic missiles in Russia," he emphasized. Kovalenko believes that in exchange for the transmission of Zolfaghar, Iran may require some Russian technologies in Moscow. Speaking of North Korean weapons, Kovalenko mentioned that Pyongyang has many types of missiles, but almost all of them are created on the basis of Soviet or Chinese samples.
According to the analyst, the DPRK has ballistic missiles up to 300 kilometers and from 300 to 500. He noted that these missiles are actually analogous to Russian "Iskander". It should be reminded that according to the Institute of War Study (ISW) of January 4, Russia is likely to intensify efforts to purchase ballistic missiles from abroad, as they are more efficiently bypassing air defense.
