South Korean ATACMS analogue: Rare frames of launching CTM-290 rocket (video) appeared on the network

The rocket is compatible with the Polish HOMAR-K RSSU, as well as with K239 Chunmoo complexes, which are in service with the UAE and Saudi Arabia. In this way, weapons will appear not only in Europe, but possibly in the Middle East. Rare frames of launching the South Korean Ballistic missile CTM-290, designed for the Polish troops, have appeared on the network. The rocket that experts compare with the American ATACMS was launched by the Homar-K jet system.

The video was posted on April 24 on the X (Twitter). "The CTM-290 rocket flight range and the warhead characteristics are the same as that of the American Ballist missile of ATACMS, which will soon be put in Ukraine," the source writes. The publication says that this rocket will significantly increase the potential of the Polish Armed Forces. In addition, the author of the post expressed hope that the CTM-290 will ever be put in Ukraine.

It is also noted that the rocket is compatible with K239 Chunmoo reactive systems, which are in service with the UAE and Saudi Arabia, so it is possible that a new ammunition will appear in the Middle East. Experts in this regard note that CTM-290 is a formidable and universal weapon due to the presence of different types of warheads designed to perform different tasks.

For example, the cottage combat is aimed at personnel and lightweight enemy equipment, and penetrating warheads are effective against strong goals and bins. The length of the rocket is about 4. 6 meters, and the diameter is about 230 millimeters, and the movement of ammunition is carried out on a 5-axle truck with a 10 × 10 formula. The observers reminded that in 2022, the Polish Defense Ministry became interested in South Korean development.

The then Defense Minister Mariusz Blaschak reported that negotiations were underway to purchase the South Korean rocket-artillery system. And on October 13, 2022, the Polish weapons agency announced the successful completion of these negotiations.
