International popularity came to it in 2008, the singer represented Ukraine at Eurovision and took second place. In the same year, she was given the title of People's Artist. After 2014, she actually moved to Moscow, where she continued her music career. She regularly appeared on Russian television, received local musical awards, including the Golden Gramophone, and participated in the Song of the Year project.
In October 2022, the NSDC imposed sanctions against cultural figures who support Russia or are active in its territory. Ani Lorak was on this list. In November 2024, Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on deprivation of such persons of state awards, thus lost its state titles and awards.
