According to Newsmaker, on September 22, President May Sandu in the address warned the citizens of the real threat - in the event of increased pro -Russian forces, Moldova may become a bridgehead to attack the Odessa region. In a public statement, Sandu reported that the Kremlin is investing large amounts in bribery of voters, misinformation and organization of provocations on the eve of Sunday parliamentary elections.
According to her, if the pro -Russian forces are controlled, "European funds will cease, Moldova can become a transit site to the Odessa region, and the Transnistrian region will be destabilized," said May Sandu President. She drew attention to the fact that Moscow allegedly "throws hundreds of millions of euros throwing up hundreds of thousands of votes on both banks of the Dniester, as well as outside the country," and called on citizens not to be fakes and provocations.
"Today I am with all seriousness to tell you that our sovereignty, independence, integrity and European future are threatened. The Kremlin throws hundreds of millions of euros to buy hundreds of thousands of voices on both banks of the Dniester, as well as outside the country. People are lied to the pad. Let's disagree on the country's surrender before foreign interests, "said President Maya Sandu. Sandu also warned of the direct consequences of the possible promotion of pro -Russian forces.
"All Moldovans will suffer. Europe will end at the border with Moldova. European funds will stop at the Prut. Freedom of movement can end. Our land can become an infiltration ramp in the Odessa region. The Transnistrian region will be destabilized. These are their plans, and they can say that they are open. But stability in the region has been threatened.
Recall that the tension around Moldova has intensified in recent years due to geopolitical confrontation in the region, as well as because of the special status of Transnistria. The government and international partners have repeatedly expressed concern about possible external influences on the country's domestic policy. According to Focus, Moldova wants Russia to withdraw its troops from Transnistria.
