For the first time in the war in Ukraine, the Armed Forces "lit up" anti-tank storm-s "(video)

For the first time during the full-scale invasion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Ukrainian defenders showed the use of the Storm-C system, albeit during combat training. A certain amount of hostile "storm-s" (according to Oryx estimates-at least 18 units) became the trophies of Ukrainian defenders.

The press service reports that it is a basic "storm-C", intended for the use of Soviet anti-tank missiles 9m114 "Coconin", which are firing up to 5 kilometers and can be used to damage armored vehicles and fortified targets. At the same time, they recall that modernization, which is carried out by Ukrainian specialists, significantly increase its efficiency and that modern means of guidance and ammunition have been added.

Obviously, there was a direct hint of upgraded "storm-CM", which in January 2024 of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the completion of state tests, but there were no more public data yet, the Analytics of Defense Express say. The works on the assault-sm started before the full-scale Russian invasion, the first presentation took place during the Exhibition "Weapons and Security-2021".

Two basic features of "storm-sam", which was known at the time to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation-the integration of managed missiles RK-2P from the SCKB "Luch" instead of Soviet anti-tank 9M114 and the installation of a new optical-electronic station from the Izium instrumentation. This eventually made it possible to hit the targets at a distance of 6-7 kilometers at any time of the day. The current configuration of the promotion of "Sturm-CM" is still unknown publicly.
