"Protect Our Sky": The Armed Forces showed the work of German Zenita Gepard (Video)

Ukrainian defenders are trained to use the Gepard anti-aircraft installations with two 35 mm automatic guns against Russian airlines. The technique was created on the basis of the Leopard Tank 1. The technique of German production is to protect the sky over Ukraine. The Armed Forces Land Forces posted a corresponding video on March 23. Defenders improve their skills and train constantly. The department did not indicate whether this technique was used to counteract the invaders in the air.

"Protect our sky," the post reads. The German Anti-aircraft Installation has two 35-mm automatic guns and is created on the basis of Leopard 1. The technique is able to fire at a 4 km away target and up to 3 km. It was developed in the 60's of the XX century. Gepard is now assisting Ukrainian military units at the front, as well as protecting civilian infrastructure and cities. Combat equipment is designed to protect armored columns on a march and stationary facilities.

It is capable of protecting from helicopter attacks and planes at small and short heights. Gepard works day and night in the conditions of intensive electronic counteraction of the enemy, as well as in any weather. According to Focus on March 8, Ukraine received six thousand ammunition from Germany. The Germans also transferred the Gepard anti -aircraft installations, but the number of relevant equipment was not announced.

In Germany, they spoke about the readiness to restore ammunition for Gepard systems provided by the Armed Forces. Boris Pistorius, German Defense Minister, confirmed on February 14 that the German government had signed a contract with the RheinMetall military company to restore the production of ammunition for Gepard 1A2 anti -aircraft installations.
