The clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate faces up to 8 years in prison. The court chose a house arrest at night. The abbot of one of the temples of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi of the Cherkasy Diocese of the UOC (MP) justified the full-scale war of Russia against our country and tried to discredit the above military-political leadership of Ukraine. The Security Service informs about it.

The investigation was that the person involved was spreading a video among the residents of the community calling not to participate in the resistance of Russian aggression and traveled abroad. Also, through the messengers, Cleric sent videos to the locals who justified the military crimes of the invaders. In such a way, as it is noted, the clergyman shook the socio-political situation in the region.

According to the police, special examinations were conducted in the framework of the investigation, confirmed the fact of the illegal nature of the actions of the Korsun priest. On the basis of the evidence collected, the priest was notified of suspicion under Part 2 and Part 3 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition legitimate, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

He faces up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property. The Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office reports that a 51-year-old suspect has a precautionary measure in the form of house arrest at night. Local Telegram channels inform that the suspect is the abbot of the Holy Trinity Parish of the Cherkasy Diocese of the UOC (MP) Petro Taranenko.
