According to the developers, the new UAV is equipped with highly sensitive optics and can be used for reconnaissance missions in the war. With full dressing, the unmanned apparatus can remain in the air for more than 2 hours, working at an altitude of more than 2 thousand kilometers. The drone also created container type refueling. The company claims that the station refuel the fuel balloon with hydrogen pressure up to 350 bar in less than five minutes.
Pre -seasoned cylinders can be replaced in less than 20 seconds, after which UAVs can continue work. It is reported that the main advantage of drones in water is that they vibrate during the flight, so they can install sensitive equipment. These drones also do not leave a thermal and fuel trace, as do drones with internal combustion engines. Due to this feature, the route of such UAVs cannot be tracked by spectral analysis.
Engineers claim that hydrogen fuel can make drones more autonomous than UAVs with conventional batteries. Among the other stated advantages of drones for water: the possibility of working at negative temperatures and the absence of harmful emissions into the atmosphere. According to the publication, the UAV was initially created to monitor the oil pipelines, gas pipelines and transmission lines in Russia, in particular because of the threat of sabotage.
However, the CEO of the Russian company Fly Dron and the expert of the NTI market "Aeronet" Nikita Danilov in a comment to reporters that in Russia there is almost no infrastructure for mass refueling of UAV with hydrogen, and its creation requires very much money. In addition, the process of hydrogen filling is technologically complex and not safe.
"Due to the lack of hydrogen infrastructure, the use of diesel to refueling drones in terms of operators will be more accessible and simpler for a long time," the expert said. Recall that last November, the Israeli company Hevendrones introduced two new models of cargo drones on hydrogen fuel - H2D200 and H2D250.
The manufacturer noted that through the use of hydrogen, these UAVs can spend more time in the air and work more productively, reducing the cost of replacing batteries and causing less damage to the environment. In turn, scientists from Inchn National University and Harvard University in February said that they have developed new material, which increases the reliability and durability of hydrogen fuel elements used in UAVs and cars.
