"There can be no language": in the Russian Federation refused to transfer control over the Zaporozhye NPP

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova stated that Russia is not negotiating with Ukraine to create a security zone around the ZPP. According to her, the station is located in the Russian territory. The Russian Federation does not intend to transfer control over the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant as part of the Nuclear Security Agreement.

This was reported by a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Zakharova stated that there was no direct dialogue between Russia and Ukraine about the situation at the Zaporizhzhya NPP. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation accused the Ukrainian side of shelling and "attempts to capture" the station.

"We discuss the possible parameters of the Declaration on the Creation of Nuclear and Physical Nuclear Security Protection Zone with the Secretariat of the IAEA, which in turn is trying to interact with Ukraine," the message reads. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the IAEA should ensure that Ukraine is fulfilled by nuclear security. Zakharova also denies the possibility of departure of Russian troops from the territory of Zaporizhzhya NPP.

"No conclusion from the Russian control or the transfer of control over it to any" third party "can not be discussed. The station is located in the Russian territory and is fully managed by Russia," Maria Zakharova said. According to Zakharova, the physical and nuclear security of the nuclear power plant can be properly provided by the Russian Federation.

The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation also denied the words of the General Director of Raphael Grossi about the rapid conclusion of the Russian-Ukrainian Agreement on ZPP. At the same time, Zakharova emphasized that Russia is ready for the Gross visit and intends to discuss with him a "wide range of issues". Earlier, Focus reported that the deputy chief engineer of the Zaporizhzhya NPP moved to the side of the Russians.
