Germany raised fighters over the Baltic Sea: NATO was intercepted by a Russian reconnaissance aircraft

To spread: On September 21, two German fighters flew out of Rostock-Lagge's air base after discovering the Russian IL-20M aircraft. The aircraft moved without a flight plan and did not connect in international space. The German Air Force reported that on September 21, a alarm was announced due to the detection of a Russian intelligence aircraft over the Baltic Sea.

As the German delegation at NATO specified, the IL-20M aircraft flew out of Russia and entered the international airspace without submitting a flight plan and not establishing a radio contact. In response, two Eurofighter fighters that made visual identification of the aircraft were raised into the sky. The Bundesver then handed over the support of the aircraft to Swedish partners on NATO.

According to the German Air Force, the identified aircraft was Il-20M-a multi-purpose reconnaissance platform. It is equipped with a radar, radio -electronic intelligence complexes and radio electronic struggle systems intended for interception of communications and detection of air defense systems. Such opportunities allow you to collect reconnaissance data for Russian military operations.
