"We gathered evidence": the UN declared sexual violence against captive Ukrainians in the Russian Federation

Former prisoners of Ukrainian said that the workers of the Russian colonies referred to orders for the use of ill -treatment. Even prison doctors participated in the torture. The torture of prisoners of war in the Russian Federation is systematic and encouraged by the leadership of the colonies where Ukrainian defenders are. This was stated by the Head of the UN Commission on Investigation against Ukraine Eric MOSE.

"We have gathered evidence of sexual violence that was used as torture, mainly to male victims in prisons, as well as rape women in the villages under Russian control," Mosose said. The United Nations Commission has documented new cases of torture committed by the Russian authorities against civilians and prisoners of war in Russia and in the occupied territories. According to MOSE, torture is widespread and is systematic.

The members of the commission also pointed out: former prisoners say that the workers of penitentiary institutions referred to orders for the use of ill -treatment. In some places of imprisonment, the Russian leadership of the highest level ordered, tolerated or has not taken any measures to terminate it. In many places, imprisonment does not provide proper medical care to those who desperately need it. Even prison doctors participated in one of these institutions.
