Listened radio frequencies: on the detained Finnish tanker of the Russian Federation were spyware - the media

The insider, which provided the vessel commercial services, claims that with the help of spyware on Eagle S tanker, the Russians monitored NATO ships and aircraft. The Russian Fleet Tanker Eagle S, which was detained by Finnish law enforcement officers on December 25 on suspicion of damage to the submarine cable, was previously equipped with spyware for listening and recording, writes the British edition of Lloyd's List navigation with reference to anonymous sources.

According to the source of the publication, which provided a tanker commercial services 7 months ago and refused to name its name for safety reasons, high -tech equipment on the Eagle S ship consumed a lot of energy from the ship generator, which led to constant shutdowns. Journalists also point out that a similar equipment was installed on the SwiftsEA Rider tanker, which belongs to the same cluster of owners and is under the sanctions of the United Kingdom.

The source reported that the equipment for listening and recording was delivered to the tanker in "huge portable suitcases" with "many laptops" that had the keyboards of Russian and Turkish. The equipment was stored on the bridge and on the "monkey island" - the highest platform on the ship. With these devices, Russian, Turkish and Indian radists monitored all NATO naval ships and aircraft. The records of all radio frequencies were unloaded in Russian ports for analysis, said insider.

According to the source, the Eagle S tanker also dropped the "sensory type devices" during the transit in the lane duct, and after unloading for analysis in the port of the Russian Federation, the device was no longer returned. In addition, the insider noted that the crew of Eagle S could know about espionage, because it was difficult to hide, but was silent because of life threat. "They replaced the captains when they raised the issue," the source said.

On the evening of December 25, the media reported that three submarine communication cables were damaged in the Baltic Sea between Estonia and Finland. One of them, Estlink 2, provided electricity supply, so the police started investigating vandalism with burdensome circumstances. The Finnish authorities have previously reported that the cable had damaged the anchor of the Eagle S oil tanker from the Russian "shadow fleet".

The head of the Finnish Center for Hybrid Competences Yukka Savolinen noted that recently there have been a lot of incident incidents with underwater cables. On December 26, local media reported that the Russian Flee Safety Oil Tanker was detained by the Finnish Border Service. It was stated that the ship under the flag of the islands of Cook came out of the Russian port of Ust-Luga and moved to Egypt, and above the Estlink 2 cable 2 significantly slowed at the time when the data was interrupted.
