According to Tradoc, ALMAS is an anti-tank launch of the Earth-Earth, which uses wire and infrared (IR) guidance and works on the principle of "shot and forgot. " ALMAS is equipped with a tandem warhead, the front warhead is located immediately behind the head of homing in the nasal part of the rocket. The range of its action is up to 8 km. In fact, this PTKR is a recycled copy of the Israeli anti -tank controlled SPIKE missile.
It is believed that this weapons system was developed through the reengineering of SPIKE missiles, which fell into the hands of Hezbolla during conflict with Israel in 2006. Subsequently, these missiles were sent to Iran for analysis and repetition. The Almas rocket was introduced in 2021, and there are currently two portable options in production - air and land.
