According to him, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation want to capture Kryvyi Rih to create a bridgehead for the offensive on Voznesensk and Yuzhnoukrainsk. After that, the Russians can try to surround Nikolaev. This scenario is similar to the capture of Mariupol.

"They have already tried to take Nikolaev, they failed, so they now want to get around it, take it in the ring and then reduce this ring. In principle, how they did with Mariupol," Marchenko said. However, he is convinced that all the plans of the Russian army will begin to collapse after they try to attack.

Dmitry Marchenko also said that in the Zaporizhzhya region the army of the Russian Federation will probably not develop an offensive because of difficult terrain, so it is unprofitable for them. "Therefore, they will come in the Nikolaev and Kryvyi Rih directions," the general said.
