The department noted that NATO Foreign Ministers will discuss security issues, including increasing investments in the defense of the Allies and the termination of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Earlier, on May 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared his readiness to start direct negotiations with Ukraine. According to him, the delegation meeting can take place in Istanbul on Thursday on May 15. US President Donald Trump called a "potentially big" day when Putin agreed to negotiate with Ukraine in Istanbul. He stressed that the US wants to focus on recovery and trade.
