Share: The Russian Federation has purchased American Swiwin SW400Pro and SW240B engines assembled in China for the Shahed jet attack drones. The company "Angar-22", which purchased these engines, is already under sanctions due to the purchase of the Chinese version of Limbach engines, which were also used in "Shakhed". In turn, Swiwin USA is not mentioned in any sanctions lists, writes The Insider.

The publication found out that in 2025, SW400PRO and SW240B engines were imported to Russia from China for about $300,000. In particular, the manufacturer — Swiwin Turbojet Equipment Co. , Ltd. — was engaged in import. According to customs, "Angar-22" LLC bought Swiwin engines "for research and development, for their disassembly and research", that is, for reverse engineering. Journalist sources confirmed that the Swiwin engines were bought, disassembled and sent for reverse engineering.

As noted in the publication, the Swiwin USA company was founded by the American Andrew Fioretti, who is also its owner. The manufacturing company Swiwin Turbojet Equipment Co. has been operating in China since 2013 under the same trademark and logo. Ltd.

It is also reported that in 2019, a representative of Swiwin USA wrote on her behalf on a specialized forum that the company has established rules limiting the circle of potential buyers, since the manufacturer is responsible for the consequences of using its equipment. "If someone is seriously injured and the cause turns out to be an attempt to make money off of it. If I sell parts to someone who has no idea what they're doing and they get hurt as a result, someone could sue.

As a business owner, I can spend thousands of dollars just on litigation, regardless of whether the lawsuit is valid or not," the message read. We will remind, according to the German publication NTV, China prevents Ukraine from importing the necessary electronic components for drones through allied countries, in particular Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland.
