Russian troops are still far from the Armed Forces in Bakhmut - isw

Despite the statement of the Russians, nothing heralds the inevitable Bakhmut environment against the backdrop of recent small successes of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Soledar. Russian troops are still far from achieving the operational environment of the Armed Forces in Bakhmut. This is stated in the report of the Institute of War Study (ISW) for the evening of January 7.

Despite the statement of the Russians, nothing heralds the inevitable Bakhmut environment against the background of recent minor successes of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Soledar. Even given the statements of Russian military military who are already fighting on the outskirts of the village of Rozdolivka, which is about 6 km northwest of Sledar, Russian troops are still far from being achieved by Bakhmut's operational environment.

The report states that in order to cut the ways of supply of the Armed Forces, the occupiers need to establish control of the Siversk-Bakhmut highway. But now the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are another 7 km from this route, according to the known position of Russian troops during the offensive in the Soledar area. Russian troops also need to take control of the Slavyansk-Bakhmut highway, which is 13 km from the famous location of the invaders.

According to experts, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are moving in the area of hostilities recently at a speed of several hundred meters a day. Therefore, experts of the Institute of War Study conclude that Russians are unlikely to be able to make a powerful offensive forward to cut the Armed Forces supply lines. In addition, it is unlikely that Russian troops will manage to move forward so as to surround Bakhmut.

The report also states that even if the occupiers manage to cut the ways of supplying the Armed Forces on the Slavyansk-Bakhmut highway, the Ukrainian army still remains ways to obtain everything necessary. The Institute of War Study believes that any discussion of Bakhmut's potential environment now looks quite strange. The ISW report states that both the Armed Forces and the Russian invaders continue to step in the Svatov and Kreminna area.

Experts also talk about minor successes in the offensive of the Russians on the Soledar, but as of January 7, the Ukrainian army controls this city. In addition, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continues attacks of the Armed Forces south of Bakhmut, but these attacks by the Ukrainian army reflects. As focus wrote, Russian troops fired at Bakhmut during the "Christmas Truce".
