"Siptomatically": in the Russian Federation it is said that they have not approved a joint statement with the US in Riyadh because of Ukraine's position

To spread: the Deputy Chairman of the Defense Committee of the Council of the Federation of the Russian Federation Volodymyr Chizhov claims that in 12 hours of negotiations of the delegation allegedly agreed a joint statement, but eventually did not approve it.

A joint statement on the results of negotiations in Saudi Arabia on March 24, the United States and the Russian Federation did not adopted a joint statement due to the position of Ukraine, said Vladimir Chizhov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Council of the Federation for Defense and Security of Russia. He said this on the air of the TV channel "Russia 24", reports on March 25 the Russian propaganda media "Head Regional".

It is noted that Chizhov called a meeting of American and Russian delegations in Riyadh "link in the chain" of contacts between the US and the Russian Federation, which began with a telephone conversation of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the President of the United States of America Donald Trump.

"They sat for 12 hours and seemed to agree a joint statement, which, however, was not adopted because of Ukraine's position, it is also very characteristic and symptomatic," the Russian senator said. There were no official reports on the results of the negotiations from the US and Ukrainian side at the time of the material. The US and Russian meeting in Saudi Arabia took place on March 24 in a closed format, and journalists were asked to leave the hall.

The US media wrote that the parties plan to discuss the "control line" between the two countries and "confidence -strengthening measures", including the return of Russian children stolen by Russia. The White House stated that they wanted to reconcile the ceasefire in the Black Sea to ensure free navigation.
