Kyrylo Dmitriev, Russian officials and publishers: Zelensky announced new sanctions against the Russian Federation

Share: The President of Ukraine announced the signing of a new package of sanctions. According to him, it aims to increase pressure on Russia for continued aggression and attempts to "normalize" the occupation of Ukrainian territories.

Today's decisions include persons who work in Russian government structures and are involved in embezzlement and looting in the temporarily occupied territories; one of the so-called "wallets" related to financing; functionary of Russian military intelligence; as well as one of the collaborators. Zelensky wrote about this in his Telegram channel. In addition, Ukraine is beginning work on sanctions against Russian publishing houses that justify the war and spread propaganda abroad.

Zelensky emphasized that Moscow is trying to drag out the war and find ways to justify its actions, including demonstrative "sanctions" against Ukrainian officials, including the prime minister.

Such behavior, in his opinion, should be met with increased international pressure: "The world should expand the limits of this pressure — both against the sources and schemes of financing the Russian war machine, and against every person who spreads propaganda and makes it difficult to make decisions aimed at achieving true peace.

" The President added that Ukraine will prepare and submit proposals for new sanctions to relevant partners so that the coordination of international restrictions is greater and more effective. According to him, special attention will be paid to blocking everything related to the war in Russia. The new presidential decree introduced sanctions against eight people involved in crimes against Ukraine and its citizens.

The list includes those involved in the theft of Ukrainian property, in particular resources of the agricultural sector, grain crops and cultural heritage. Among those involved are also individuals who conducted information operations against Ukraine and implemented Russian educational programs with an overtly anti-Ukrainian content in the temporarily occupied territories.

Russian government officials, an FSB agent responsible for information sabotage, a representative of the information department of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, as well as financier Kyrylo Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and special representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, fell under the restrictions.

He regularly visits the United States and conducts negotiations with the administration of Donald Trump. The following were on the new sanctions lists: As a reminder, on October 31, Zelenskyi signed decrees on the implementation of the decisions of the National Security and Defense Council regarding the introduction of new sanctions. The restrictions applied to Russian propagandists and members of the military-industrial complex.
