India is preparing to put into operation a second nuclear submarine INS ARIGHhat

The Pchab will be equipped with K-15 ballistic missiles with a range of 750 km. These missiles have an inertial control system based on circular laser gyroscopes. India is preparing to put into operation its second nuclear submarine INS arighat, equipped with nuclear missiles. Built on a shipwreck in Visaase, the submarine is ready for administration after careful testing and modernization. About it reports the edition of The Economic Times.

The boat is expected to be commissioned in the coming months or two and it will join the Ins archant, which has been in order since 2018. The strategic strategic (PCC) missile underwater cruiser will be equipped with Sagarika K-15 missiles with a range of 750 km, similar to those that stand at INS ARIHant, but with the opportunity to carry more warrior. The third Pcharb, INS ARIDHAMAN, which will carry K-4 missiles with a range of 3500 km, should be put into operation next year.

Also in the construction stage is the fourth Pchab, capable of carrying even more K-4 missiles. Basic characteristics of K-15 ballistic missile: the introduction of the submarine occurs on the background of the construction of two atomic shock submarines equipped with ordinary weapons-torpedoes, anti-ship and terrestrial missiles. This project expects the final approval of the Security Committee under the Cabinet of Ministers, headed by the Prime Minister.

Initially, India planned the construction of six submarines type "Killer Hunter" (SSN) with a 6,000 tons, but the plan was reduced to two submarines. These submarines are expected to be 95% domestic and their construction will last for at least ten years. The authors of the material point out that unlike India, China has a fleet of about 60 submarines, including six Jini Pershab, armed with JL-3 missiles with a flight range of 10,000 km, and six SSN Pcharb.
