Compensation for losses from war and restoration of justice: in the fields of the UN General Assembly there was an event dedicated to Ukraine

In New York, the UN International Law Fields have held an event of "Compensation for War: Commission for Consideration for Ukraine", organized by the Netherlands and the Register of Losses. The Ukrainian delegation was presented by the deputy head of the Presidential Office Irina Wise. She noted that Ukraine needs support and efforts of the international community to restore justice.

The deputy head of the head of state said that the first element of the compensation mechanism was created - the register of losses. Work is underway to launch a compensation committee, which will consider applications to the Register of losses and will award payments. This tool will be ready next year. “We see that the enthusiasm of partners in the creation of the commission is no less than when working on the register, but we still have to meet, remind.

We managed to overcome all political obstacles and achieve the same long -awaited political will. So, we have green light for the commission, ”said Irina Wise. Another key topic of discussion is to hold a crime of aggression against Ukraine. “Despite the fact that the crime exists in international law, the International Criminal Court is now deprived of the real opportunity to consider it. Therefore, Ukraine insists on the creation of a special tribunal.
