The Russian Federation did not sign the ban on the use of phosphorus ammunition,...

The Defense Ministry confirmed that the occupiers attacked Bakhmut with phosphorus ammunition (video)

The Russian Federation did not sign the ban on the use of phosphorus ammunition, so during the invasion of Ukraine she has repeatedly used them. The other day, the forces of special operations have shown what Bakhmut looks like during the shelling of ignition ammunition. Now the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed that it was phosphorus. This was reported on May 6 in the official tweet of the department. "There are not enough ammunition, but enough phosphorus.

On the evening of May 5, the forces of special operations showed how the invaders hit the bakhmut with inflammatory ammunition. It is noted that operators continue to defend the city. Phosphorus ammunition consists of white phosphorus. After the explosion, it spreads the substance with a combustion temperature of more than 800 degrees over a large area. Phosphorus may stop burning under two conditions or it needs to block access to oxygen, or the phosphorus in the ammunition will burn out.

For people, phosphorus ammunition is of particular danger, because after inhalation of such a substance, people actually burn the lungs within 150 meters from the explosion. In addition, the fluid affects the kidneys, heart and liver if the phosphorus has long contact with the wound. Therefore, the strait III to the Convention on specific types of ordinary weapons prohibits phosphorus ammunition for use. However, it should be noted that the Russian Federation did not sign this document.
