Attack on the Crimean Bridge: Analysts from ISW told that it would be with Russian logistics

According to analysts, on the highway E58 Mariupol-Melitopol-Kherson, which Russian invaders are used as the main logistics highway, have recorded numerous congestion and accidents. All this is affected by the supply of ammunition and the movement of equipment. Accordingly, it creates new problems for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which are trying to resist the Ukrainian counter -offensive.

The enemy also had to reduce the traffic on the checkpoints between the Crimea and the Kherson region near Chongar and Armenian. The fault is the heavy workload of the road. "The Russian occupation authorities also advertised alternative routes and stops along them so that tourists could travel from the occupied Crimea through the occupied Zaporizhzhya and Donetsk region - the rear districts in the war zone - and return to Russia," the message reads.

In order to partially unload the area of ​​the highway, the Russians have taken to reduce safety precautions through checkpoints, analysts with ISW say. At the same time, the Presidential President Dmitry Peskov, on the contrary, declares the government's development of security measures that will have to increase the security of the bridge through the Kerch Strait. All this is accompanied by the Kremlin's criticism by Russian bloggers.

They are dissatisfied with how Russia has ensured the protection of Crimea and the bridge. On the night of July 17 in the Crimean Peninsula, there were powerful explosions near the bridge, which resulted in serious damage. After that, information about two victims appeared - a couple from Belgorod region, who went to rest in the occupied territory. Their 14-year-old daughter was traumatic injury and was hospitalized.

On July 18, it was reported that the Russian elite, in the person of officials and oligarchs, quite calmly perceived this news, because it considers it an obvious fact. Also in the Russian Federation experts estimated the cost of repairing the Crimean bridge after the attack. According to preliminary forecasts, the restoration of one of the damaged spans requires 300 million rubles (more than $ 3 million), that is, a total of 600 million rubles (over $ 6 million) is required for repair.
