Putin will go to China with the heads of Gazprom and Rosneft, - Reuters

It is known that Russia wants to conclude a sale agreement to China and plans to build a Siberi-2 power pipeline, which will pass through the Mongolia and will have an annual capacity of 50 billion cubic meters. The heads of Russian energy companies "Rosneft" and "Gazprom" Igor Sechin and Alexei Miller will join the environment of President Vladimir Putin during his visit to China next month. About it reports Reuters with reference to sources.

Putin plans to meet with China President Xi Jinping for negotiating in Beijing and will take part in the third "Belt and Way" forum at the invitation of Xi Jinping, who came to Moscow in March. The sources reported that the delegation will also be other high -ranking Russian energy officials. Sechin will hold his own energy event after Putin's visit.

It is noted that Russia strengthens its relations with Asia, especially with the economic center of China to compensate for the reduction of trade with Europe, its traditional buyer of oil and gas after invasion of Ukraine. Chinese-Russian trade has increased sharply since February 2022. Russia has sold Asian countries, including China, large volumes of oil, which it can no longer sell west because of economic sanctions.

Reuters notes that Russia wants to enter into a selling more natural gas agreement in China and plans to build a Power of Siber-2-2 pipeline, which will pass through the Mongolia and will have an annual capacity of 50 billion cubic meters. For comparison, the current Siberia will reach 38 billion cubic meters of gas by 2025. The proposed pipeline will supply gas from the Yamal Peninsula deposits in Western Siberia to China, the world's largest consumer and large gas consumer.

China and Russia have not yet agreed on the terms of gas supply with this route, including price. According to sectoral analysts, negotiations are complex, partly because China will not need more gas by 2030. It is unknown whether any agreements will be signed during Putin's visit. The last Putin visited Beijing in February 2022, a few days before the trip tens of thousands of Russian soldiers to Ukraine.
