German special forces are armed with new "Walters": what is known about the PDP gun (photo)

According to experts, the new gun has improved ergonomics of the shutter frame, which makes it possible to handle weapons in all situations conveniently and effectively. Germany's armed forces recently elected a PDP pistol manufactured by Carl Walther to equip special purpose Navy (KSM) and KSK (KSK) units, reports Defensa. Viewers write that this choice reflects the trend of special units to modernize and improve small arms, which provides higher accuracy and speed at close distances.

The new gun will replace reliable solutions as the Glock 17 concept and other Heckler & Koch P30 ppm 9x19 mm and will shoot the same cartridges. In total, up to 3200 units of standard version of the pistol and up to 3,300 units of the compact P14K version, as well as about 1500 pistols adapted for training and modeling will be purchased for special buildings.

A distinctive feature of a German pistol for special operations is the thoughtful ergonomics of the shutter frame, which allows you to handle it conveniently and effectively in any situations. The design contains the lower funnel for rapid change of the store, guided in the lower front part for installation of lighting and/or sighting modules, as well as an elongated trunk with a thread for installation of the muffler.

The standard PDP version, which is designated P14, will be supplied in the color of Flat Dark Earth and will be equipped with Aimpoint Acro with a red dot known for its reliability and efficiency in extreme conditions. Adopting a PDP pistol with special operations of Germany, said the authors of the material - a significant step forward to Carl Walter, whose share has been declining on the market in recent decades.
