The USA monitors the tests in the Russian Federation from the territory of its "Eareckson Air Station", located in the Aleutian Islands, 935 kilometers from the "Kura" test site. As part of the exercise, in addition to the Yars, a Sinyava ballistic missile was launched from the Bryansk nuclear submarine based in the Barents Sea, and cruise missiles were launched from the Tu-95. The Kremlin traditionally reported that the training was successful and all tasks were completed.

RS-24 "Yars" is a three-stage intercontinental missile on solid fuel, created in Russia on the basis of "Topol-M". Its key feature is a separate warhead: "Yars" can carry up to three nuclear blocks with individual guidance.
